The NBA has already ensured we’ll have a merry Christmas by giving us basketball.  It feels good to actually talk about NBA, not CBA and BRI.  Maybe the best part of this Christmas gift will be seeing the Mavs put up their banner right in front of the Heat.  But most of all, I’m just excited to have to have more moments like this…

And hey, if the Blazers don’t want Roy, maybe the Jazz can pick him up for cheap.  (Although I’m still trying to understand the new format to this amnesty rule.)  While I think the Jazz should focus on getting their young core as much experience and development as possible, with a shortened season and an acquisition like Roy, they could realistically compete for a playoff spot.  While I was writing that I talked myself out of it.  The Jazz should work on getting cap space and draft picks/young talent.  Either way it doesn’t matter because the NBA is back!

What are you most excited about the upcoming NBA season?

The Holy War, the Iron Bowl, the Backyard Brawl, the Civil War, the Border War, and many many more.  I love rivalry week!  Whether anything is on the line or not, both teams have pride to play for.  And this year, there are several games with lots on the line for at least one of the teams.  You can never count the underdog out.  Unfortunately BYU and Utah already played, but let’s not dwell on that game.  I’m really excited to watch Michigan end this drought to Ohio State.

This post is coming up late and I feel the need to mention that Lindsey did pick Colorado over Utah, but we elected not to use the game.  Either way, she’s been kicking my butt lately so I don’t feel too guilty.

This lockout is bad and looks like it’s only going to get worse.  It’s so bad that I resorted to watching the scenes from “Like Mike” with NBA players.  Who knows what I’ll do if we lose the entire season (or more).  How depressing.
